Technics: SL-50C Direct Drive Turntable (Open Box Special)

LAB POINTS

• hi-fi listening model with Technics signature direct drive motor
• the belt-less, direct drive motor is the same core-less motor featured in the higher-priced SL-1500C / SL-1200MK7; the motor is smooth, precise and maintenance-free
• pre-mounted Ortofon 2M Red Cartridge, easily upgradeable
• built-in high-end phono preamp that is optimized for 2M cartridge, switchable on/off
• smaller footprint than other Technics models
• new S-shaped tonearm design with anti-skate control
• includes hinged dust cover

"The SL-50C is Technics' next-gen hi-fi turntable. It's built around Technics' signature direct drive motor, the same one you'll find on higher priced models. The smaller footprint and wood MDF body are both new to the Technics line. This updated base allows for a more approachable price point and the addition and more color choices. Overall, the SL-50C is a very refined design built with high quality components from the metal tonearm to the dust cover hinges." - TTL
